The Spring Lake Lakers advance to Thursday's second round of District play with a hard fought 60-48 victory over cross town rival Fruitport. It was the Lakers third win over the Trojans this season and second win over them in the last 4 days. Jackson Core had a monster game with 28 points including 13-15 from the free throw line in addition to 8 rebounds, 4 steals and 3 blocked shots. Porter Saunders scored a career high 15 points including 7-8 from the free throw line and grabbed 8 rebounds. The Lakers were 29-39 from the free throw line in the physical game. Jaron Little had 12 rebounds for Spring Lake. The Lakers will host 17-1 Orchard View on Thursday at 7:00.
