The Spring Lake Lakers won the Division 2 District 42 Championship against their longtime rivals, the Fruitport Trojans on the Trojans home court 45-37. It was the third time the Lakers defeated the Trojans this year. A close game throughout Spring Lake broke open a tie game and pulled away late by making 11 free throws in the 4th quarter. Zach Schlepp scored a game high 18 points which included going 11-12 from the free throw line. Zane Stahl had 12 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks while Wren Dephouse added 7 points. This is Spring Lake's 7th District title in the past 10 years.
Spring Lake will now advance to Regional action on Monday March 13 at 7:00 at Hudsonville Unity Christian High School against Grand Rapids Christian.
