The Spring Lake boys varsity swimming and diving season concluded on Saturday, March 11th at the Oakland University natatorium. The Laker state team recorded a 17th place finish. Despite a couple difficult relay decisions to make and losing a high point scorer to illness for finals, every athlete participated, and over half of them ended the season with a personal best performance.
The following nine athletes are to be recognized for everything they've achieved this weekend:

-Matthew Daudelin (Sophomore): 21st in the 200 Medley Relay
-Kyle Eacker (Junior): 8th in the 200 Free Relay and 13th in the 400 Free Relay --> Earning 1st Team All-State Recognition
-Ryan Fisher (Sophomore): 21st in the 200 Medley Relay, 8th in the 200 Free Relay, 30th in the 100 Back, and 13th in the 400 Free Relay --> Earning 1st Team All-State Recognition
-Noah Fletcher (Sophomore): 30th in the 200 Free, 19th in the 100 Free, 8th in the 200 Free Relay, and 13th in the 400 Free Relay --> Earning 1st Team All-State Recognition
-Nathan Navarre (Junior): 21st in the 200 Medley Relay
-Tomas Ruiz (Senior): 21st in the 200 Medley Relay
-Alex Strauss (Freshman): 8th in the 200 Free Relay and 13th in the 400 Free Relay --> Earning 1st Team All-State Recognition
-Jonah VanDreumel (Sophomore): 30th in 11 Dives
-Johnny Wachter: 4th in the 50 Free, 5th in the 100 Fly, 8th in the 200 Free Relay, and 13th in the 400 Free Relay --> Earning 1st Team All-State Recognition
Thank you to Todd Welscott and Bethany Ballard of the SLFAC for accommodating of our pool time over the past 16 weeks, and another huge thank you to Austin Way of SLHS for being our strength training champion for our program! We couldn't have done what we did without them.
